Horror Horror - April 2008

" HELLBENT "

April 27th 2008 06:16
Okay, this movie stands alone in it's own way. Directed and geared to only the gay and bisexual community, this film is more campy with the typical slasher stereo types. Now you know what I would do to a bad film like this one. But to be honest, I feel as a homosexual male I should stand up for this film. Of course, I am not. This film was just Bad BAD BAD! Thank god, it was released in 2004. Also though, never heard for again.

So let me tell you the plot. In a nut shell. A group of gay men, get ready for West Hollywood Halloween night and are stalked by a really beefy masked killer who has it in for cute looking men. Starring Dylan Fergus and Bryan Kirkwood, also for those who know him from his singing career and Great Gay Porn career, the only Colton Ford. Written and Directed by Paul Etheredge-Ouzts.

As you can see I have really nothing great to say about the plot or the actors unless you want me to start talking about Colton Ford, and it wouldn't be about his actting or his singing. So let's skip that and cut to the chase. The only thing cuter than the guys in this film is the tag line for the movie, " When The Night Belongs To The Devil, The Party Goes To Hell. "

Now with all the good points of the slasher flick out of the way, now comes with the bad comments. Do not expect great stellar profromances from the cast, your not going to find any here. Next bad jokes and nothing but hungery men looking for a cheap thrill which, sorry guy it does not deliver. Might as well order a pizza, At least it will be warm, and it's worth the money.

Hellbent is such to say a steping stone for the community, giving the gay allience memebers something to chat about over there fab dinner parties. A lot of lighting and speical effects and some gore to throw in here and there, which we all know as horror fans is somewhat needed in films today. So I bet those who are somewhat interrested are asking, " Why rent this film or watch it on Logo? "

Two words, Colton Ford. Not that he makes the film since he is only in very few seldom shots. But with all said and done we all know why most men would rent this film. I can not really say much. Because really I could find better ways to spend my time but as you can see here, I trying very hard not to bad mouth it to the max. Very conflicted here, oh well.

Now, I asked many before if they knew of Bad movies of the horror field. Please comment on one or two that you really disliked. Anyone. New or old. Would like to know more what people think. Remember your opinion counts for something. I have a couple, but would like to know more before I start out on this soon to be Post. Well moving on from that, hope to hear from someone soon.

TOOTH AND NAIL, Horrorfest 2007

April 26th 2008 17:32
Another okay film from the " After Dark Films/ Lions Gate" Horrorfest 2007. Tooth and Nail is one of those films that you would rent if there is nothing to see on a Sunday rainy afternoon. It has the basic sernario as any zombie or cannibal movie, the struggle for surivival. Only the fittest will surive. Here is the basic plot if you really don't feel like researching it.

In a post-apocalyptic world, a small group of survivors, who call themselves Foragers, plan to rebuild civilization from their headquarters in an empty hospital based in what is left of Philadelphia. But they're soon forced into a face-off war with the Rovers, another gang of survivors whom are a brutal gang of cannibals. As the Rovers take out the Foragers one by one, the Foragers must draw on all their resources to stay alive. Written by Anonymous, from The Internet Movie Database.

I could not sum it up better myself. The reason why the world is now post-apocalyptic is because there is no GAS !!! Well, looks like we are all suffering from that soon enough with gas prices going threw the roof ! Starring, Rider Strong ( Cabin Fever ) and Rachel Miner ( Penny Dreadful ). These to have to learn to love each other, instead of eatting each other.

Anyway, the film is pretty predicable even with the big twist. But for some odd reason, maybe it was the actting of Nicole DuPort or maybe I was to busy cleaning out the study and wasn't really paying attention. The way surivival tactic for one Forager came out to be. Very good move, if they were play chess. Made me want to say, " Checkmate !"

There are some chuckles here and there too, just to lighten up the bored of your TV room. But it get's you thinking, can the world fall apart without gas? A good conversation starter since we are nearing higher prices...LOL. Hey you got to give them credit for at least coming up with a better idea. Or at least a new idea. To all those who like this film tell me what you think of this idea? Better yet you think there might be a sequal?

Please let's vote and post your opinion, Tooth and Nail Part 2? I think not..but hey it's the matter of taste in which we have to say everyone has one. Also do yourself a favor, Rent ( PENNY DREADFUL ) for Rachel Miner. She's got it in the bag to do more horror movies and some talent is there too. For some reason, I like her. Of course, Horrorfest 2006 film, ( PENNY DREADFUL ) was one of her better momments. " What could be more scarier then a phobia of cars? Hey, maybe it's the Killer outside that is trying to get in to kill you ! Oh God Damn it ! "

Sweeney Todd, 2007

April 26th 2008 16:59
All I have to say is, " GO TIMMY, GO TIMMY, GO GO GO !!!" What a wonderful movie ! Even though, I have never got to see it on stage. I have to say Tim Burton, Directed this film with such taste and style. I am very big fan of his work. ( BeetleJuice and Sleepy Hollow ) Everytime I see a Tim Burton film I know I am in for a treat and I also know it is, " WORTH THE MONEY ! "

Johnny Depp, ( A Nightmare on Elm Street and Sleepy Hollow ) plays the nortorious demon barber from Fleet street. The plot outline, Sweeney Todd sets up his old barber shop above a meat pie shop. Looking for revenge, he kills off the people who are responable for a certain beloved's death and disposes the body's to a certain shop below. Which to all suprises, generates better Biz for the meat pie owner. HELLO CANNIBALS ! AT THE VERY BEST !

If I knew the words to the lyrics to this show, I would have been singing and dancing like the fruit that I am. LOL Stellar proformances by all the cast. I got to see this with a friend who loves Broadway plays and he even said, it was very delightful. Unlike the others, one had Ben Kingsley. Which was released in 1998. It was made for TV and it was directed by John Schlesinger.

This one had very little to do with a back story and no motive for the Demon Barber, which does not give the audience what they want. No singing, just something watered down. Like most people, I like to know why characters do the things they do. If you read reviews for this film you see why it was such a disappointing movie. There is no comparison.

Back to the Burton Film, like I said before for those who have never seen the Play. Rent this one, worth the time and the music is wonderful. Now even though I never seen the play. I know now that I would love to see this in production. Knowing You and I, would be singing down the rows, GOT TO EAT MRS. LOVETT ' S MEAT PIES ! MRS. LOVETT ' S MEAT PIES !

Now, the reason why I am doing all these films all at the same time is becasue my friend, who will rename nameless did his own reviews about these films. I have to say, sometimes I do envy him and his professinal ways of writing reviews. He is no compraison to me, his blogs are just like any horror website I have gone too. Which that is where we have the matter of opinion.

As I said before and I will say again. HorrorHorror.com (aka formerly know as Horrortainment.com) Is a matter of my opinion, with funny and witty comments. Nothing professinal about it and I like to keep it that way. So here it is, if your looking for a real movie review. You know where to go on your computer. If your looking for a simple unprofessinal opinion and something to laugh at and get entertainment for at the same time. then look no futher. HorrorHorror.com is for you

In this sabotage of a remake gone straight to video. Well do I really have to explain it to you since we all know what the hell this film is about. And if you don't know, let me spell it out for you. Hello there fellow bloggers, I know I know it's been awhile since my last blog but been out there dealing with lifes issues alone and trying to make up for lost time. I hope these few blogs will make up for it. But first let me catch those up with what's going on. Few know this but, " HORRORTAINMENT.COM" has been changed to "HORRORHORROR.COM". Yes I finally got my own site with better traffic. So please spread the word!

Next, I see that I have a fellow blogger, who feels that my opinions are great but thinks I may or may not be Competition. I have to laugh a bit. It was not my intention to make this person feel this way. But, as you can see he's been writing his reviews because he sort of stop writing about the subject he was intented to write about. Anyway, to say the least. Let me tell you what "HORRORHORROR" is about. " HORRORHORROR.COM" is about my opinons of New and Old Horror movies. With some cute and witty comments. As I shake my head in shame, I have to say this. Any Horror film that is PG-13 that is released, I should not see and wait till video. Yes! Yet again, I went to go see the great remake " PROM NIGHT " and the only thing I can say that was good from this movie was the soundtrack. So here is the deal with this movie.

Filmed in Canada, where it's cheaper to make bad films like this one. A young girl, ( Britney Snow ) is stalked by her teacher( Johnathon Schaech ) who go's insane after he gets a restrainning order placed upon him. 3 years later after killing her mother and placed in a aslyum. The teacher tracks down the girl of his dreams to her Senior prom. Killing anyone that gets in his way with a kinfe

As fans of Horror movies we all wonder about films that we all loved but were never mention. There are a few that mention good horror films, that sit on the dusty shelves of the local blockbuster, so I though that I would mention a couple and ask other to support me in telling me horror movies they like that are not mention.

Funny Games, Not so FUNNY!!!

April 1st 2008 04:28
Funny Games, Not so FUNNY!!! That's what I felt when I left the theather that night when i first saw the waste of Ten dollars and fifty cents movie. Of course that was my fault for not looking deeper into the movie's details. Fooled by advertisments which I felt were so far fetched for this movie. Knowing that other Independant films were better and got less reconized. I think that the olny thing I can do now is whine and cry about this disaster of torture film. I felt like trying to hunt down Naomi Watts, going up to her. ( If I got pass security!!!!) And saying, "Hey Ten-fifty, right here!" While extending my right hand out, palm facing up. If you don't get that, don't worry. Only Old "Will and Grace" fans would get it.

Now where can I start out first, the acting? No, because to be honest. The actting was superior. The colors and speical effects. No, because there was great effects to the films. Not like some of horror films where you can tell CGI and Green screen. ( One of my Pet Peves!) I think I should start of with the biggest comment that most of US society pointed out. " DRAGGED OUT!!!!" Oh my Bloody God!" Did this film know to push people to go theather hopping. I should have seen "Hortan Here A Who". I mean, come on John Carpenter came out with better ways of dragging things out and yet there was still something erie that made you want to stay. Now that's for most of his films. Halloween, The Fog, The Thing, ETC
