OH MY GOD THEY RUINED ANOTHER FILM!!! BEWARE ALL CLASSICS YOU MIGHT BE NEXT TO BE REDONE!!! What is going on here!! I haven't seen so much CRAP!! Since ,Hell This Morning! When I took the dogs outside to go to the bathroom. Yes as we all know movies are being done, over and over again. Exspecially, the Horror Gerne..bad movies like April Fool's Day, Prom Night, Last House on the Left, Etc etc etc. Okay maybe to each there own. My opinion, I so happen to like the orignal "April Fool's Day" but still no point in making a bad horror movie, WORST!!! Like my old man use to say, and I bet yours did too! "The times are a changing!"
But like many people that hate to see things like this happen the only thing I can do is whine and complain about these movies and hope that many people out there agree with me. So what can we do? Stage a bloodly protest and walk down the streets of Hollywood covered in Blood. Run picket signs into each other limbs at the gates of Dimemension, Lions Gate, or New Line? Okay maybe that would be a little far fetched. Really there is nothing we can do but sit here at our on PC's or Labtop's, waiting around like the old slasher movies we all used to love. Awaiting for them to be butcher by the very people who created them. Talk about screwed up!
Hey there is a moive idea. A killer who is killing hollywood types because they are making too many remakes and nothing orignal is coming out. Okay let me stop because i will lose track of where I am going with this. The truth is Hollywood is running of ideas and we are trying to go back to our roots. thinking what could we have done for another direction. To be honest, I can understand. Sometimes, I watched movies and said to myself that was horrible sence. But with all due respect. Some things need to be left alone.
Who started this trend..Gus Van Sant with that horrible display of plagerising off the great man Alfred Hitchcock. Anyway, no reason for crying over spilt pint of blood unless your a vamp. I do have to give credit to some Writers and Directors that try to put something together. Sometimes the attemp is reconzined for a Raw Deal! Like the remake of "Hallloween" By Rob Zombie. Not the greatest film but not for nothing. It was a very good try and a Bigger Pay Off at the end. I somewhat liked it. But as most people said and I have to say, he must of saw it too. Slow in the begining and very fast at the end. One thing is for sure he never lost his element of his twist and taste. The very end, a screaming Bloody girl and in the first 20 mins of the film the word "Fu*k" has been used 30 times by every actor in the film.Thats how you can tell your watching a Rob Zombie film.
Back to other good or okay remakes. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, killer profromances by all actors. The Amityville Horror, beautiful special effects. The Hills Have Eyes Part One and Part Two. All of you know this is true, The Hills Have Eyes Part 2 Remake was better then the original part two which sounded like a bad Friday the 13th film in the canyons. So this sort of makes me conflicted. Do I like the remakes? Or am i just whining about something to not focus on my own issues. Really, it just has to do with the matter of taste and what we as people have seen enough of, and what we need a fresh new view point of. Another point of prospective.
"REMAKES" Horrortainment or just plain Horrorible!! That for all to decide would like for all to give there opinion, whatever it may be you input is reconnized by me.

Film & TV on DVD
The only Horror remake I rank is Willard and Dawn of the Dead...
I found the Rob Zombie Halloween took all the terror of Michael away by making him a stereotype killer. You know bad family, school bullies. What made the original terrifying (Aside from Carpenters awesome POV direction and thick atmosphere) was that Michael seemed to have no trigger...it would have been far scarier if he came from a good family and was just inherintely evil. Also showing him in the madhouse just further reduced any fear. I won't even go into how little control Zombie had over pacing anticipation and tension in the film. (Despite this I am a fan of Devils Rejects and House of 1000 corpses which suited his heavy handed approach)
Fun post i look forward to more....if your interested you can read my list of horror faves HERE and HERE
