Director: Adrian Garcia Bogliano
Screenplay: Adrian Garcia Bogliano, from a story by Martin Frias and Ramiro Gracia Bogliano (original title: No Moriré Sola)
Production: Argentina/Spain
Year: 2008
Sub-genre tags: rape-revenge
Logline: A group of young women traveling through the remote La Plata region are raped and terrorised by a bunch of thugs, and after the police fail to assist them two of the women embark on a mission of vengeance.
Core cast: Gimena Blesa (Carol), Magdalena De Santo (Yasmin), Andrea Duarte (Moira), Marisol Tur (Leonor), Rolf Garcia (Corvalan)
Memorable moments: The opening credit sequence, and the gang bang.
Curious Facts: Apparently made for $6000, and although it's all handheld shooting on location, the sophistication of the filmmaking belies its budget.
Intensity levels:
Blood & gore: low
Fear factor and/or frights: medium
Likelihood of bad dreams (disturbing content): high
Horrorphile’s two cents: This is powerful exploitation; the movie is made with intelligent hands, even if they do get damn filthy in the process. The brave performances and striking screen charisma of the four young women lifts the game immensely ... It's not for the easily offended. Like Abel Ferrara’s Ms. 45, it's harrowing and leaves an unpleasant taste in the mouth, but you can’t help but admire the unbridled tone and atmospheric execution of the nightmare.
